I think it's safe to say that the last two years have been... not what we anticipated (clearly). 2020 was a year that we all had looked forward to. The year that everything we had set our minds to was gonna happen. It was going to be the year of pure joy and happiness. Till it wasn't. 2021 was the recovery year. Although things were just as bad due to covid, the world started to somewhat open up again and we were doing our very best to makeup for the year we had lost. Trying our best to not stay in the funk 2020 had caused us all.

2021 was not an easy year for me. At the start of it, I found out some pretty life changing news about my mom and to say the least, the only thing my family and I focused on was making sure she was okay. This year I had learned a lot about my health and although I had did my best to stay on it, I lost focus and let it pummel to the ground again. There were many bad's, but it didn't stop the good from happening. My most anticipated moment of 2021 was going to London, England. My absolute dream had come true and I couldn't be more grateful to my friend Kayla for helping make this trip a possibility.

I'm not the one to normally set down New Year Resolutions for myself, but I think this New Year just might call for it. We're about to go into the third year of the unknown (covid) and I just want to make sure that this time around, I actually do something for myself. And I think many others may feel the same way. So, without further ado, here are some of my New Year Resolutions for 2022.

  1. GET A NEW JOB

This one just might be a little too long overdo, but it's my main goal of 2022. I really want to finally work in a place that I absolutely love. I worked my ass off to not have what I want and so now I'm gonna get it. This year will be about finally being able to do what I love most and if that means applying for eighty jobs a week, then so be it.

2. TRAVEL

Yes, I did travel in 2021, but not as much as I wanted to. This year I want to be able to go to new places, travel with my friends, and make new memories. As I mentioned in other blogs, traveling can be such an educational experience, but it can also be the break that we all need. I think it's such a great way to take care of yourself and just relax and be away from reality for a bit. I do have a couple of places in mind, meaning I really have to save my coins and spend wisely (lol).

3. LEARN HOW TO DRIVE

I have been wanting to learn how to drive for a hot minute and I am fed up! I was honestly waiting to meet up with friends or my family to just get a couple of lessons in from them, but I've lost all hope. My safest, and what seems to be my only option at this point, is to go to a driving school. Not going to lie, this one scares me the most cause the thought of driving is terrifying to me, but I know once I do it and get used to it, it'll be just fine.

4. FOCUS ON MY HEALTH

I won't go into detail with whats going on with my health, but I will say it's reached the Earth's crust and it's not doing so well. I really have no choice but to get on it, but I don't want to look at it that way. It's something that I want, and NEED, to do for myself. I'm honesty way too young to be going through this and something needs to change. Plus, I miss feeling confident in myself. I want to be able to wake up everyday and feel good, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I want to be present and not feel like my brain has fried within the first couple of minutes of waking up and I want to not be uncomfortable with myself every time I eat or look in the mirror. I will do everything in my power to make this my top priority. It will not be easy. In fact, it'll be extremely heard. Tears will most definitely be shed.

But in the long run, it'll be whats best.

5. SAVE MONEY & BUDGET

Last but certainly not least, I want to save more money. I think we could all say that. I've done pretty well with saving money and I want to make sure that I'm not spending it on unnecessary things and saving it for all my future endeavors. Whether that means traveling, moving, investing into specific products- I want to make sure that I'll be comfortable with doing so and not feeling stressed out or disoriented for spending it. Next to saving is budgeting, which is what I'm really bad at. A friend of mine always tells me that you can have tons of money saved up, but if there's no actual purpose to it, it loses its value. This is where budgeting comes in. Again, I want to make sure that when I book trips, or make life changing / adult like decisions, I am able to do it without overthinking it. We'll see how this one goes haha, lord knows I suck at it, but it's time to learn.

_________________________________________________________________________

And that's where we're at guys! Now that I'm putting this here, I hope all my friends and family will hold me accountable to this (lol). Again, 2022 seems like the year of the unknown, and I feel like we're going in a little blind into it, but hopefully it's a good thing. I'm excited to see what this new year holds for us.

xx
